V+A Broomstick Bodge
On the last Friday of each month the V&A Museum in South Kensington presents 'Friday Late' in which the museum stays open until 10pm, and hosts a selection of spectacular events.
As part of the Friday Late on the 24th September 2010, the Bodgers in association with Designersblock presented The Fantastic Broomstick Bodge - an event cooked up by William Warren and Gareth Neal which allowed members of the public to try their hand at bodging simple benches using everyday broomsticks as the turned components. Some of the participants were real raw recruits with little or no previous experience of sawing and drilling. But the event was a success, and the Bodgers enabled several couples to create personalised benches, which were given away at the end of the evening.
